When someone we know and love dies, there are all kinds of feelings and emotions, as well as loads of logistics, that we have to cope with. At St Michael's we are here to help you navigate through both putting together a really special service and also the sadness and grief you will be experiencing.

Do get in touch with us as early as possible after a death and we will work with your funeral directors to make the service as meaningful as possible.

You have the option of a church service followed by a burial in the graveyard behind the church or a cremation at a local crematorium. We also take services at the crematorium if you don't want to come to church.

After a cremation, we are on hand for you when you want to inter ashes and provide a short, simple service to say your final farewells.

Who to contact: If you have engaged the services of a Funeral Director they will contact the Church office on your behalf. You are welcome to contact our Church Operations Manager, Nicola Hughes, admin@ssaparish.org 01344 620727, who can guide you in the right direction should you have any questions.

Miscarriage and Still birth

Every loss is significant and every life matters. At St Michael's, we have a number of families who have been through the grief of miscarriage and still birth. Marking your loss privately with us can be really significant and has helped several couples recently. If you would like to talk with someone confidentially, please do contact our Vicar, Rev Tansley Jordan (vicar@ssaparish.org) who will be able to help and support you.
